Number the stars the exiting 137 page book by Lois Lowry tells a story about a jewish girl being hunted down by the Nazis. Life isn't so good for ten year old Anne Marie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen, their home town Copenhagen is a disaster between the Nazis and the food shortages.
Ellen's last hope is to move in with the Johansens because they aren't jewish and the Nazis wouldn't think to look there for a jew. I would recomend this book to people who like reading about the holocaust and or world war II. It is a sad story but life is sad for Ellen because her parents got killed by the Nazis.
